A rather jolly Viking

Constructing this one seems to have taken ages but I have had a lot of other stuff going on, however it is at last finished. This jig doll is constructed from carved pieces rather than the approach I have used before of building parts from laminated ply and a head from a bought in wooden ball.

He is largely constructed from Jelutong, being that it is a softish wood I have sleeved all the joint pivots with pieces of brass tube.
